On Tuesday, May 28th, Jerry Neufeld-Kaiser and Sophia Lelevich will be taking their World History classes to the UW Libraries for a research day. This is a great opportunity for the kids to see a college campus in action. The day will start with a brief tour and then they will do research. In past years the exposure to rigorous university library resources has dramatically improved the students’ scholarship.
About 12-15 chaperones are needed to accompany about 150 kids. Chaperones will assemble at Garfield just before 8:00 am to take a group on the bus to the UW, keep a watchful eye on the kids during the day while being available to students as needed, and then return via bus to Garfield about 2:30 pm.
Parents and family members are invited to be chaperones. If you have questions or are willing to volunteer, please contact Jerry Neufeld-Kaiser at gmneufeldkai@seattleschools.org or 206-446-6871. Thank you. Volunteer Appreciation TeaTo all volunteers at Garfield High School -
